Revda is the town located in Sverdlovsk region and being an administrative center of the city district of the same name.
The town is situated in a place of confluence of Revda River in Chusovaya River. As Revda is closer than other Ural cities to conventional boundary dividing Europe and Asia, it has justly the name of "the first town of Europe". A stele "Europe-Asia" was unveiled on the road Revda-Degtyarsk in 1984, to the 250th anniversary of the town.
Revda is one of the oldest towns of Ural. September 1, 1734 is considered to be the date of its foundation. This day the first iron was cast in the village founded by Akinfy Demidov. The village got the status of a town in 1935.
Now metallurgical industry makes up a body of town economy; four large enterprises, being the city-forming, function in Revda.
The main sight of the town is Kabalinsky springs. This is a hydrological nature sanctuary in area of 1 hectare in the southwest of Revda. These are four drinking sources, located in a beauty spot and being the favourite haunt of all citizens.
